Former Luxembourg prime minister Jean-Claude Juncker on Friday presented the names of the 27 people he wants to work with in the new European Commission. Juncker, 59, who is also a former Eurogroup president, is set to lead the commission from November 1.
Below is a list of the future commissioners he has selected for the European Union‘s executive. Their appointments now have to be approved by the bloc‘s governments and parliament.
Juncker also still has to make a decision on what portfolio each of the new commissioners will be responsible for.

DENMARK: Margrethe Vestager, 46, former Danish finance minister
ESTONIA: Andrus Ansip, 57, EU parliamentarian and former Estonian prime minister
FINLAND: Jyrki Katainen, 42, current EU economy commissioner and former Finnish prime minister
FRANCE: Pierre Moscovici, 56, former French finance minister
GERMANY: Guenther Oettinger, 60, current EU commissioner for energy
GREECE: Dimitris Avramopoulos, 61, Greek defence minister
HUNGARY: Tibor Navracsics, 48, Hungarian foreign minister
IRELAND: Phil Hogan, 54, former Irish environment minister
ITALY: Federica Mogherini, 41, Italian foreign minister and next EU foreign policy chief
